"Sunset Through Smoke II"
8" x 12" acrylic on birch panel
My paintings did very well at the Amador County Fair this year! I entered six paintings, and I won four first place ribbons, and a red second place ribbon. My littlest entry (above) won the best of it's division. It's fancy ribbon is bigger than the painting!

16" x 24" acrylic on birch panel
The fair in our county is pretty special. It still has that small town country flavor, with it's sold out rodeo, FFA and 4-H animal shows and sales, and equine events. The art show is always my favorite thing to see. Most of our local artists support our show, either by entering their work, volunteering to work, or demonstrating for the public.
I have been painting for the upcoming art event---The Scene on the Strait, in Martinez. This art show will be held this coming Saturday, August 13th, and will benefit a local organization that pairs under served youths, with at risk butterflies. The kids restore butterfly habitats in wetland areas. How cool is that?!
I have also been working on a new top secret project! I am very excited about this newest venture, and I hope to launch it this fall. You know how I love to have my fingers in lots of pies? Well, this pie is going to be delicious!
