Before we moved up to Fiddletown in 2002, my mom and I used to spend hours driving around the little gold towns in Amador County. We looked for yard sales, and visited antique shops, always finding some treasure along the way. I loved to take lots of reference shots, and fantasized about someday living in the Gold Country. One of those early trips was to Amador City. It's a charming little village set among rolling hills. This vista is on "Pig Turd Alley", and it must have been an old home-- long gone now, except for these gorgous lilacs. Lilacs have the most delicious fragrance.
Yupo is not paper, it is synthetic. It is a difficult surface to paint on, but you can acheive the most wonderful textures.
