My paintings did very well at the Amador County Fair this year! I entered six paintings, and I won four first place ribbons, and a red second place ribbon. My littlest entry (above) won the best of it's division....

This huge, majestic oak is nearing 400 years old. She is rooted at Chaw'se--Indian Grinding Rock State Park in Volcano, where she is lovingly cared for along with many other huge oaks, cedars and pines.

 One of the hazards of choosing to live in the California Gold Country is the threat of wildland fires. It is never easy to see your friends and neighbors struggling to save their homes, when one of these roaring monsters becomes enraged.
